Considering the second movie somewhat followed Reichenbach Falls, it was obvious that Sherlock was still alive and the last scene suggests that Watson has some idea that he is alive as well. It would be interesting to see how Guy Ritchie handles the Sherlock/Watson reunion and what story they decide to use if there is a third movie. I love these movies so I would go watch it!

Even the Guardian's article about Emmy nominees doesn't mention Sherlock! I'm afraid it's going to be loads of Downton Abbey awards, with a little Mad Men and Breaking Bad tossed in. Oh well.

I think it depends on which article that you read. I have read a few articles here and most say that Ben is the hot favourite to win. I think he was the dark horse until recently.

It's a shame that the first season of Downton Abbey didn't win more Emmys because the second season was definitely not up to standard.

I remember reading an interview by Stephen Moffat that CBS had asked whether they could adapt BBC's Sherlock but they had said no because they were worried that it would ruin the Sherlock brand.

After reading up on Elementary, I have to ask why bother if they are going to make so many changes. I don't like the fact that Watson is female and that there would be a romantic link between her and Sherlock. This completely changes the character of Sherlock. Elementary just seems so gimmicky and a desperate attempt to outdo the BBS series. It would have been better if CBS were to create their own show based upon the characters of Sherlock Holmes. With the numerous crime shows in the US, Elementary would find it hard to compete and Miller's Sherlock is very similar to Spencer Reid from Criminal Minds. I don't hold much hope for Elementary.

I don't think we should read too much into this misidentification. The character of Irene Adler is supposed to be an equal to Sherlock, someone who had not ever encountered before (apart from Moriarty), Irene would evoke certain emotions from Sherlock and have him intrigued. So if Sherlock is adamant that Irene has died because she had sent him her camera phone, he would have not reason to doubt the body on the slab is Irene. I think she simply outsmarted Sherlock.

Hi everyone!

I'm Tania and from Sydney, Australia. I am a tad late onto the Sherlock bandwagon but am so happy that I discovered a gem like Sherlock... and Benedict for that matter. I recently bought both series and watched all episodes in one weekend. I'm kind of bummed that we have to wait so long for series 3, the wait is going to kill me.

So a big hello from Sydney and I look forward to chatting with you guys. Feel free to message me if you want to chat about everything and anything.
