Okay, I really didn't see that coming...and I would've loved it if they'd put a bit more of the "old information" from ACD into Culverton Smiths character. But well...maybe you just can't have everything.
Now in my head it'll be my dear Swan against something...wicked. Clever move. Can't wait until next week.

Hi,

I just wanted to try my luck too and I'm going with something I call "canon-based Rothbart-theory":
I believe that (before he became a tv star) Culverton Smith didn't have a lot of money so he came up with the plan to murder his nephew Victor Savage to get the heritage. Unfortunately Victors daughter Elizabeth got infected too and he found out that he'd only get the money without trouble if he'd adopt her and keep her alive.

He did and he became a famous tv star believing that Elizabeth (and a few others who got infected later) would always be bound to him. Why? Because if anyone ever stops taking his medication, he'll die a horrible death. So whoever wants to live a little longer has to come to him on a regular basis like a Swan to Rothbarts lake. If Culverton Smith dies or just refuses to continue the therapy...well...that would also be it for that character.

You still wonder why Elizabeth came to John Watson in the first place?
Well... Ever since series 2 I'm going with an anagram: from WATSON...TO SWAN.
Put that red cardigan on again, John. It actually suits you the best.
;-)

I've just finished the special and I was wondering if Mofftiss really showed us everything that happened in 1895 - because referring to a tweet from Arwel Wyn Jones (01/02/2015) I missed the scene with a tanned baby... To be honest, I expected Emelia Ricoletti being abandonned penniless in America - while being pregnant. I thought that she'd given birth to a sweet baby boy but decided to give him up for adoption shortly afterwards. Maybe she wanted to protect him from brutes with racist motives and give him his best chance. Unfortunately I believe the kid wasn't quite this lucky.

But why do I think so?
Well...Emelia Ricoletti ends up on a balcony in front of a bakery shooting and shouting at men. She looks like the perfect revengeful bride just seconds before she fakes her own death. But the last "you...are me" is different to the others. It's so soft, it nearly sounds motherly. So just an idea: What if she'd recognized her grown up son dressed up in a special way by his feminist adoptive mother so she could identify him, spare his life and save up this image of him before she dies?

It wouldn't be an uncommon motive in my headcanon.
To me "The maid of the Mill" is a reference to a famous "Millers daughter" who also became a ghost.
And Johns savior appearance in the end? From "W.A.T.S.O.N." TO SWAN.
Just saying.

Hi again,

thankfully a friend gave me the hint that there is a better video of s03e02 and I'm now capable of reading some parts of the white text. It seems to be the data from the CV (you're right, Mattlocked :-) ) and the pictures p.e. from Charlotte and Gail are actual pictures of the actresses who play them.

I think, I'll do a timeline now about who worked when and at which place. It'll become a nice fanfic.
Thanks for your help again.

I know it sounds crazy and - as I mentioned before - I'm looking for a theory for a fanfic (based on the series) and not for an actual spoiler. It might be possible to know some things before they actually mention them in the series, but of course it could still be a coincidence. Anyway, I just got curious when I saw the floor at Buckingham Palace (without slow motion) and compared "Queen Mycroft" to another drama queen whose name is written on that carpet (as part of the seal). If you do the same, you will know why I wasn't surprised when they mentioned Sherlocks and Mycrofts dead pet with red fur. There had to be one.

Right now I would like to do the same thing with Vicky, Gail, Robyn...for my fanfic but I'm not Sherlock which means I'm in need of a bit more data and slow motion pics than he would be. Maybe it's all rubbish - but as I said, I'm not looking for the truth but for something plausible.

Yours, Milaya
(...who's from Germany by the way which is why my English is horrible. Sorry...)

Thanks Mattlocked. Actually, I thought about using a "gifsplitter" so I could watch the scene like a flipbook. I did that with the "Sherlock in front of the seven laptops" scene and was able to read a few things from the middle screen:

W.H. Smiths, Carlisle
- serving and helping the general public
- administration and the use of computer ordering systems
- interviewing and training of new staff members

September 2004 - September 2005
Gardener

Skills and tasks:
- raising plants from seeds or cuttings
- a wide range of knowledge on nature

Something like that including the pictures of the women in Sherlocks Mind Palace would be quite helpful. It's because I'm working on a theory that allows you to know things about characters before they actually mention them in the series. P.e.you would've been able to know that Mycroft has an illegitime half-brother and a dead pet with red fur since A Scandal in Belgravia. It would be great to do that with Vicky and the others...

Hi Vhanja,

the scene should be around 1:00:00 in the episode.
I tried to freeze frame the moment when Sherlock "reads" Vicky (he does that with Charlotte... too) but unfortunately the quality is quite low because I can do it only from an online stream of the episode (and I'm not an IT expert like Jim ;-) ). But here it is:

Maybe someone else has got a better picture of this or could read the white text on screen.

Thanks Vhanja, but I already knew these transcripts and unfortunately the information which I need isn't in it. I'm looking for the exact moment when Sherlock looks p.e. "Vicky" (the woman in the red dress) in the face and sees some text in white printed above it. It's very fast and therefore difficult to read but maybe someone made a good gif or so...

Hi,

I'd just like to add that kizzia helped me and she said that Sholto wears his badges in the correct order.
So it seems like I got a bit too suspicious but it's good to know anyway and it will still help me to continue with my story.

Hi,

I'm currently writing a Sherlock fanfic and I was wondering if anyone ever did a (readable) gif or transcript from that scene in which Sherlock sees the information in white about the Women in his Mind Palace (s03e02)?
It would help me a lot to know about their background storys.

Maybe some of you can help me.

Tanks a lot,
Milaya

Thank you, I'll try to send her an E-Mail.
Maybe I'll also reply here again if my assumption about the badges should turn out to be correct.

Unfortunately I don't know her but if she might be able to help me, I'd like to contact her. Is she a current member of this board or do you have an idea how I could contact her? Thanks xxx

Hi,

I'm currently writing a Sherlock fanfiction and for that I was wondering about Major Sholtos badges at the wedding. I found a list on another site about which one is which but I'm not sure if he's wearing them in the right order.
According to the website it is:
1. Victorian Cross
2. Northern Ireland General Service Medal (1969-2007)
3. UN Medal for Operations in Yugoslavia or Croatia (approx. 1992 - 1996)
4. NATO former Republic of Yugoslavia Medal (approx. 1992 - 1996)
5. Iraq Campaign Service Medal (from 2004 onward)
6. Operational Service Medal from Afghanistan
7. Queen Elizabeth II Golden Jubilee Medal (2002)
8. Accumulated Campaign Service Medal (up to 2011)
9. Long Service and Good Conduct Medal

Is it correct in the way he's wearing it? Especially the 7th medal on this place?
Because I wouldn't be surprised if it's not...

I would be very happy if someone who knows about these things could help me with this puzzle.
Thanks a lot,
Milaya
