Should be available on Amazon now. I'm embarrassed to say that I haven't had a chance to watch it myself yet. Too busy watching "A Walk Among the Tombstones" last night.

Amazon is streaming the new series based on Michael Connelley's Harry Bosch series. (Connelley is maybe best known through "The Lincoln Lawyer" film with Matthew McConaughey. (Not a Bosch story.) Not to be confused with the estimable and marvelous John Connolly.)

If you haven't met Bosch, do so. This is an extremely popular book series here in the States. I have always had a difficult time visualizing Bosch, but actor Titus Welliver (I'm not making this up - it's his real name) looks perfect. The second I saw him I wondered why I hadn't thought of him before. I'm sure you've all run across him before on TV or in film.

Initial buzz (I know, that makes me sound old) is good. I'll try to follow up once I figure out how to pay Amazon to watch. And where the money's coming from.

Without a doubt, one of the finest series ever. Olyphant is remarkable, and so is Nick Searcy as Art. But the revelation to me was Walton Goggins, as Boyd Crowder. All 5 seasons have featured Boyd as the complicated friend/enemy/ally of Raylan Givens, and this last will be no exception, I understand. The brotherhood between these two is constantly evolving and constantly surprising. Unfortunately, I don't have cable where I am now, and I will be at the least behind in keeping up in this, the final season.

Those of you watching this series for the first time, prepare to be hooked. It's one of the very best, and I don't know what I'll do when it's gone. Like the song says, "You'll never leave Harlan alive." And you might not want to leave at all.

Hey Davina,

Breckenridge has invested in new lifts and new gondolas - not quite as scary now!

You definitely want to watch Justified Seasons 1 & 2.

I've read just a few threads regarding this season. I understand some of the criticism, and I also know that sentiment might betray me. But, sod it, I'll plunge in, and Devil take the hindmost.

First, the novelty of Sherlock is no longer there, so, having set such a high bar, it is unremarkable that some will snark that the new episodes don't have the chops the previous ones did. Doesn't make them wrong, just adds an additional lens through which to make judgments.

Second, Sherlock, even in this season, accomplishes what all great seasons aspire to: It presents two amazingly original characters and makes us care about them, personalize them and want to know them, spend time with them; at bottom, to admire them. No series will survive without that dynamic. Sherlock actually does this quite well. I've mentioned Justified before. That series does the same thing. Just when we start to like a character, he/she does something to piss us off, and vice versa.

So, for those who think Series 3 is a disappointment, get over it. Some of the criticisms are spot on, but remember that no series can survive if we don't like the characters, if we don't empathize. Yes, the stories may seem more pedestrian (Though compared to what? The Blind Banker? Really?), but the compensation come in the form of more mature relationships and the maturing of the characters themselves. Season 3 left me more committed to the survival of the series than anything else. So, kwitcha bitchin'!

Will I then be assigned, without consultation or consent, another descriptor? Just curious.

Hmm. Seems a tad arbitrary, to say nothing of inaccurate.

Thank you all. Yes, the Rockies are an incredible place to live. Sort of like Middle Earth, without the bad parts. Schmiezi, Justified is pretty much all good. But you have seen Season 2, which is considered the best one, so count yourself lucky. Last Season, Season 5, was pretty damned awesome, though. Be interesting how they wrap it all up for Raylan and Boyd this year.

Read most of the Fargo thread last night - that, too, rated up there as some of the very best TV ever. Haven't read what's in store for the proposed Season 2. Don't see how they could top Season 1, but then I didn't see Season 1 coming, either.

Hey, all, Jeff Ryan here, and greetings from the Colorado Rockies. The mountains, that is, not the team. And I should acknowledge that I was born and raised in the Boston, Massachusetts area, and then lived in Chicago for 20+ years. (No, I won't tell you how old I am, either.)

Anyway, read Holmes when a lad, watched Season 1 on BBC America this fall, and have just watched Season 2, and Season 3, Episode 1, on Netflix. Longtime Freeman fan, and newly-minted Cumberbatch fan. And the "fan" is literally from the "fanatic." Haven't been this excited about a show since "Justified." Glad to be here.
