G'Day, Everyone,

I just made some time to check back in and also look for further related sites - and what a shock!

Sherlockology Web site - taken down
Science of Deduction Web site - taken down
Dr. John Watson's blog -inactive

And BBC Sherlock S5 may indeed never happen.

On the flip side, who could have predicted our boys' meteoric ride to MCU fame and fortune?

As it is, I shall keep coming by from time to time.

And who knows, one day, we may be able to have another physical gathering as we did in London in 2013 - so much fun to look for all those filming locations (and props and costumes).

Be well, and see you around!

G'Day, Everyone,

I am just wondering if any 2019 events are already known?

I can only think of pop cultre-related ones like the upcoming Avengers: Endgame premiere (Benedict?)...

I personally think that this is a new development. With series 1 and 2, I felt like we were all on the same page. That's what I thought was the brilliance of these series, that they worked for nearly everyone (the hardcore canon fans, the fans of crime series, Cumberbatch/Freeman fans, occasional viewers, ...)

With series 3, I think this doesn't work anymore.

Indeed, that is the impression I am getting. Anyone else having any ideas if and how this could be the case?

You ar ebest off organising the bulk yourself-

decide if you want people to do Sports in the Sherlock spirit or if you want these people to also actively fundraise

settle for a structure (anyone can run at any event, as long as in gear, or, only certain kind of runs, etc)

Settle on a Charity (eg. Princes Trust)

Then start promoting the idea - the easier for people to join up, the more will be in.

Just a quick note from someone who has seen an original Belstaff coat as well as fan-made coats: the linked coat look spretty good. BUT it was not used by the Sherlock team as Sue Virtue confirmed on Twitter:

sue vertue ‏@suevertue Jan 25

I think the @SherlockCoat is probably a very good replica, all I'm saying is the ones we used in S3 were our original Belstaffs.

In case of confusion, to confirm again, whatever they claim, we did not use any coats or scarves made by @SherlockCoat on series 3.

I found myself having to double-check when the movie ('Saving Mr. Banks' about the cinematic dramatisation of Mary Poppins) began with a voice over of " there was a wind from the East coming..." - lol

maybe a board member could come up with a nice logo that we could put on shirts?

It seems most likely we will run at different times..

G'Day,

I will be heading for the Reichenbach Falls (the geographical location in Switzerland) in March.

Anybody got ideas of how to get there best, or what else to do?

I am aware of the museum and the statue, and there may be more?

Indeed, the scarf changes each series.

Series 1: a navy blue, vintage Paul Smith with tasseled ends

Series 2: Hugo Boss scarf of the Harrod's Autumn/Winter 2010 collection

Series 3: no ID yet.. I agree it does look silky
(not a smart choice seeing how often Sherlock gets choked, lol)

And Mary? She seems to be an excellent shooter. (Though I still don't understand why she shot him there and not in an.... more safe area.)

Check out Mary's firearm and especially its super-short barrel. There is no sharpshooter on this planet who could aim accurately with such an unsuitable weapon on a distance more than half a meter!

Wink wink - I know, movie magic!

I wonder if they try to emphasize a height difference at times.

Probably not, in fact they had Benedict's YSL heels lowered to lessen the height difference between the two main actors (though I am pretty sure Martin doesn't mind!) while filming.

Unfortunately I am not sure how similar our screens are (colour distortion), plus, in general film lighting suggest colours quite different from what they really are.

Still, I assume it was selected to contrast Benedict's eyes to great effect. It surely worked

Yeah, I am pretty much in the loop.

Anyway, I wil not post about any Moffat writing -related isues for a while because previous attempts at conversation start to look more like stating flame wars, especially between us two. Peace Out, and see you around...
