Isn't Sherlock the best? This place has answered lots of my questions. Good folks. Welcome!
His Last Vow » What did CAM say about Janine at the end? » February 4, 2014 6:04 pm |
When CAM said Janine makes the funniest noises, my first thought was while she's having sex... with CAM. And then he looks at Sherlock to get a reaction to that bit of news. That he says "makes" not "made" is possibly important. Crazy? I need to watch it again for sure.
The Sign of Three » anyone know the root of "trick cyclist"? » February 4, 2014 5:20 pm |
The good transcript says "trick cyclist" and it's British slang for psychiatrist, so that's what he said, it seems.

Yes, I think you're right. Closer to "tricyclics" but I think that's it.
His Last Vow » Molly being in Sherlock's Mind Palace » February 3, 2014 3:52 pm |
Her engagement to Tom is off. That's a bit of news. And Sherlock did have Tom's name in his mind palace, although not easy to get to. (I still cannot get over the Earth goes round the Sun thing, even in the Canon.)

I too would like to know why there are only 3 per season, but mostly wish we could get MORE! A caution to other newbies in the US who haven't seen the last episode yet, I inadvertently read a spoiler in a post under Scandal in Belgravia. Backing off reading now until after I see His Last Vow.

If trick cyclist has been around since WWII then it can't be from tricyclics, which came out in the late 50s. Thank y'all!

Like others I thought Sholto asked John, "No more need for the tricyclics?" and it was mis-heard as "trick cyclist." But then it turns out trick cyclist is British slang for psychiatrist. John wouldn't reply "I go in now and then" if he were referring to anti-depressant meds, so "trick cyclist" must be what Sholto said. Surely the slang "trick cyclist" comes from the drugs "tricyclics"? Any one know for sure?
Love this show!!!
