Well... I'm German, and it made me grin. What does that say about me?  I personally don't see any harm in it, it was just a playful exchange of sexually themed puns. Seeing how Benedict knows both Amanda and Simon in person, I find it hard to believe this would offend him, but obviously I can't speak for him.

I'm 38, and I text as well, though not very frequently, mostly only to arrange things, like where and how to meet someone, and things like that. I use WhatsApp too. Most of my friends are 35 and over, and some text often, some don't. It's a widely used tool throughout all age groups now. Funnily enough, I think my mum (at 66) might even text more often than I do.

Not sure if this has been mentioned before, but the Cinestar in Düsseldorf is also rerunning the play. On Nov 13 with Johnny Lee Miller as Frankenstein, and Ben as the creature, and on Nov 20 with Johnny Lee Miller as the creature, and Ben as Frankenstein. Tickets not on sale yet.

John announced it at Euro Airdot Con last weekend, which I attended. Yes, Zurich will be split into two half hour parts. The first one will air Dec 23, the second on Dec 24.

Also, the complete box set Cabin Pressure A-Z can now be pre-ordered on amazon.co.uk for round about 50 pounds. It will be released middle of January 2015.

Apparently John shared a few deleted scenes in the lobby with a group of people on Saturday night, but I had already gone to bed at the time. He read out a few more during the quiz on Sunday. The last part of the quiz was "guess the last line", but to make it really difficult, he used deleted scenes for it. That was so much fun! There was one that was really very obvious, which all but one team got right. The collective cheer was amazing!

(We were team "I can see your winkie". When we told him the team name, he said, "Is that a comment or your team name?" LOL)

And me again to say that if anyone's interested in seeing the photos I took at the con, you can now take a look at them in my online gallery, including a few quite lovely ones of John Finnemore.

Oh, we totally are.  I managed to get a number of really nice photos of John today. I'd post the direct link to Tumblr, but the hotel WiFi is super slow and Tumblr doesn't actually really load well. However, you can see them when you go to my Tumblr page: http://tj-teejay.tumblr.com

Waving a virtual hello to all Cabin Pressure fans from the Euro AirDot Con in Milan. Having tons of fun here with Titania and a whole bunch of other Cabin Pressure and Sherlock/Benedict fans. The John Finnemore interview was great, we gained a lot of insight into the show. So much fun all around!

I'll leave you a picture of Titania and me, waiting for the event to start.

I can imagine that building and keeping such a site takes a lot of time.

It does. I put together and still run two fansites, and they're for actors who are a lot less active than Benedict. It still takes a fair chunk of my spare time (next to my "real" full-time job) to update them regulary, especially doing screencaps and cutting together video clips. Of course for us webmasters it's also that we usually enjoy that kind of thing. I especially like the sharing aspect of fandom. It's twice as much fun if you find like-minded people to share the love with, right?

Sadly, the answer is probably yes. *sigh*

Well, you know, it's the age-old story of the regular fan vs. the extremes. The media usually only focus on the latter, because that's what's most "sensationalist" and sells better. It's not a new phenomenon, and probably started with the Trekkies -- all those stories about nerdy geeks dressing up in Star Trek uniforms, pretending to be characters from a TV show. (No offense meant, I consider myself to be a Trekkie as well, even though I don't actually have a uniform.) And of course there's countless other examples, from the music band fanatics to the Twilight moms.

While these days it may have become a bit more acceptable in society (e.g. cosplaying, conventions like FedCon, RingCon, SDCC, etc.) to be a geek, there will always be someone who'll try to make a quick buck by ridiculing those people who are passionate enough about something or someone to do things that others might consider weird or crazy. It becomes uncool when it turns into stalking or other obsessive behaviour that's more at the unhealthy end of the spectrum. But as long as it's all in good fun, I don't see anything wrong with being a fan of an actor or a TV show.

The "TV geeks" are often an easy target, because there is that old cliché about them being overweight, unattractive people who spend all their time in front of the TV or computer because they don't have a life. I'm sure there's a portion of of those fans in every fandom, but from my own experience with fandom people I know in real life, I can't think of anyone who really fits that cliché. Unfortunately, however, the media will always find those few and make them into yet another sensationalist story.

And, yes, I've done crazy things in the name of fandom. I don't feel ashamed for any of them. In fact, every single one of them has been super fun and enriched my life in many ways. I wouldn't want to give that up for anything. And I don't care if the media considers me weird for it. If life was fair, they'd also consider football fans wh

Remember when I posted up there I taught my friend's 4-year-old how to play Yellow Car back in May? Well, I'm visiting them again in the UK this weekend, and this morning we were driving along without much of a care in the world, and suddenly he blurts into my ear, "Yellow car!" and points at a passing yellow car. Ha! Success!!

Yeah, apparently the app needs over 700 MB of space. Can't install it on my old-ish Android phone either because there's not enough memory left, but I'll try on my new tablet when I get back home (I'm currently in the UK).

Hehe, no, it has nothing to do with Star Trek. Although thinking of Deep Space Nine, I understand how one would make that connection. It's more or less a sequel to the movie "Legion". Though you don't necessarily need to know the movie in order to understand the TV show.

Here, let me post a trailer:
