The Operative

Info about the broadcasting of the movie at Berlinale at 10-th and 11-th of February:

I cannot live without brainwork. What else is there to live for? Stand at the window there. Was there ever such a dreary, dismal, unprofitable world? See how the yellow fog swirls down the street and drifts across the dun-coloured houses. What could be more hopelessly prosaic and material? What is the use of having powers, Doctor, when one has no field upon which to exert them?

And Martin will be there as well, so it seems:

Berliners, a chance for you!

Re: The Operative

Ouch! There´s a review of the Operative in German newspapers, right off from Berlinale and the reviewer is quite harsh to it, describing it as a flop.

https://www.welt.de/kultur/kino/article188583707/Diane-Kruger-im-Agententhriller-The-Operative-auf-der-Berlinale.html

The spy movies are mostly jingoistic nonsense anyway, but still, I hoped for more from this one. What a pity!

On the other hand, the movie carries an anti-Iranian message (so popular in West now to crap on that country), so maybe it´s good it flopped....

Re: The Operative

How can you describe something as a flop?
Surely the cinema numbers prove it one way or another?

Re: The Operative

So maybe not a "flop", but a bad movie? All in all, the reviewer didn´t like it.
Of course, the attendance in cinemas can prove the reviewer wrong - we´ll see.
