Re: John Watson in S4

I'm honestly not sure what I'm hoping for. lol I'm curious what could be in store, but at the same time I'm not the biggest enjoyer of pain.  Although as long as it's well-written it doesn't really matter.

Am I the only one who thinks John would forgive this? He knows Sherlock wouldn't just up and kill his wife and unborn child. He knows Sherlock promised to be there for them. Once Sherlock explained why he had to do it John would understand he didn't have a choice and as heartbroken as he would be he totally would forgive Sherlock...

Re: John Watson in S4

Yeah, I think he would have forgiven him too. He would have known that Sherlock would have had a good reason for such an extreme action. So either it wouldn't work because it would never be much of a rift drama at all, or it would work but then it would be too melodramatic. ;)

Re: John Watson in S4

This is one of those "not sure where to put it" pieces of speculation but I think the John Watson thread is most right.

Lately I can't stop thinking about the fact that Ella is going to appear in S4.  She may have only been in two scenes in two previous episodes, but those were both pivotal moments for John.  I think that her scene in S4 will be very important.  Would anyone care to speculate with me?

I'm almost certain that the scene will occur like all her others, in the pre-credits of an episode.  Which episode do we think she'll show up in?
What will John be talking about?  I'm leaning toward something about Mary.
Do we think Ella might turn up in more than one scene this time?

Re: John Watson in S4

Perhaps he will go to her if Mary and/or the baby dies?

Re: John Watson in S4

That would certainly make sense.

I've also wondered if we could get a flashback to some previous session with Ella.  Perhaps one that took place during the two years Sherlock was gone.  Or maybe right after Sherlock returned.

Re: John Watson in S4

I was thinking along the same lines: flashback or bereavement.  They could even open an episode in that way, the way they did with TRF (I know that wasn't  strictly Moftiss as writers, but still, I thought it was very effective and love that episode).   It would be similar to the way the beginning of HLV harked back to the beginning of ASIP.

They might be really naughty and have him clearly taking about a death, but not make it clear who he is talking about.   "She" could be Mary, the baby, or Mrs Hudson ... or he may not mention the gender.

But I do think Ella's presence is probably bad news for John.  Even if it's just a flashback, I assume it will spell doom and gloom in the present.
