Re: The Hollow Crown: The Wars of the Roses (was "Richard III")

Yes, I am truly envious of the brilliant TV they offer. Hats off!

I just fainted:

I cannot live without brainwork. What else is there to live for? Stand at the window there. Was there ever such a dreary, dismal, unprofitable world? See how the yellow fog swirls down the street and drifts across the dun-coloured houses. What could be more hopelessly prosaic and material? What is the use of having powers, Doctor, when one has no field upon which to exert them?

Re: The Hollow Crown: The Wars of the Roses (was "Richard III")

That is a nice story, though it doesn't really surprise me.  From what I've found online Benedict seems to be very professional in his work.

Clueing for looks.

And he always seems to be in good shape for action.

Btw, no rumours so far when it will be screened?

Re: The Hollow Crown: The Wars of the Roses (was "Richard III")

I have not heard anything but I imagine they might air it around the quartercentenary of Shakepeare's death in April.

And then Setlock will start all over again.

Ooh February! Not bad!

And yes, what great planning if we get Setlock after that... what a way to keep the obsession alive!

The David Tennant version, I think.

Re: The Hollow Crown: The Wars of the Roses (was "Richard III")

Oh right...that's good, but IMHO not a patch on Ben Whishaw.

We will see. Did Ben Whishaw also do it on stage?

Re: The Hollow Crown: The Wars of the Roses (was "Richard III")

No, which I guess is the difference...so is David reprising the role, or is it a film?
Honestly, if I'd seen David first(and on the stage), I would have thought he was the best.
But having seen Ben's performance first, David's just seemed so like his...

Re: The Hollow Crown: The Wars of the Roses (was "Richard III")

So did you see David playing Richard II on stage? I'm really looking forward to see him live at theatre.
I think it's always difficult to compare a stage to a film/TV performance.

No, that's what I was saying...I appreciate a live show is better!
Yes, theatre and TV are 2 different beasts.

Oh, this sounds very promising. And this from a BAFTA screening.
