I started watching around series 4, I think, and stayed hooked until the end. The funny thing is, I only realised the Sherlock Holmes associations after reading about it, but then of course I could not unsee them anymore. And interesting enough, in Germany the final episode "Everybody Dies" was titled "Reichenbachfall".

I've watched first three seasons and then began to feel bored. I watched some other random episodes but never felt curious enough to follow the show to the end.
This is the problem with many American TV series, I feel: there are just too many episodes and too many seasons. Even the best shows tend to run out of ideas and use gimmicks to keep the plot going.
