When you laugh way too much watching a new intro to a Danish TV comedian (sort of a more lame version of John Stewart)'s popular segment in his show... 'No Sh't Sherlock'... this time following up on a scandal he translated the phrase into several languages

When you go to the kitchen at work to fetch your co-worker a pitcher of water and find a tin of tea by the label "Victorian" and you instantly think about the special...
When you almost walk into a pole going home because of a shop window... someone dressed a mannequin in a sheet and had painted on it "Everything must go"

Even the sheet? That gave me a laugh, thanks!

LMAO! I have a giggle every time I walk home from work!
Also... you know you're obsessed when you don't think twice about calling your wifi '221B'...
(gosh it feels good to finally have wireless in the flat... cables are a nightmare!)

You know you're obsessed with Sherlock when...
You start observing people's habits.
You tell your enemies to turn around because you can't concentrate with them looking at you.
Whenever Sherlock is mentioned you let loose an inhuman scream like a strangled cat.
When you start using Sherlock's bad ass cusses.
When you put your hands together just under your chin when you're thinking.
When you start making people look like dickheads from your new found observation skills.

You know you're obssessed with Sherlock when...
You have random bursts of laughter when you see a Sherlock reference that no one else gets

- When the term 'Long John' makes you laugh for a bit too long...

When during a marathon viewing of Merlin you suddenly mimick Sherlock's voice "Anderson!???"

You know you're obsessed with sherlock when...
- You've put the letters '221b' on your bedroom door
- You have attempted to get your mum to answer to the name Mrs Hudson
- You attempt to deduce people; I do this but half the time I just come out with something whacky like 'I see from your left cuff that your paternal grandmother has just had an unsucessful hip operation following an incident involving a pilot, a chincilla and The Doctor'
- You include at least five sherlock references in your a level english coursework
Love some of the suggrstions that people have posted here! I may or may not be guilty of literally all of them...

You know you're obsessed with Sherlock when your kids (5 and 8) know the plots of all the episodes even though they haven't seen them (did I really tell them!?), and you get them to listen to children's audiobooks narrated by Benedict Cumberbacth and they can recognise Sherlock's voice. I think they've absorbed Sherlock by osmosis!

^Awesome parenting right there!

Well, you know...get 'em while they're young

When you sit and yell at the telly because on 'Who wants to be a millionare' the contestants take a minute to answer the question "What title does Sherlock Homes' accomplice John Watson have?"
Offline
When you leaf through Nextflix to find a movie to watch and end up watching a Sherlock episode instead because you get a bad conscience from not watching Sherlock when it's there.

When you tie your scarf the same way Sherlock does.
When you put your collar up right after you've put it on.
Words such as 'boring' or 'dull' or 'vacant' make their way into your speech.
You crave danger.
You like to think of yourself as a highly intelligent person.
You've researched the symptoms to "sociopath" and "Asperger". Oh, and "psychopath" (do your research!)
You've a mind palace. Not "cottage", "attic", "flat" or anything like that. A mind *palace*.
You don't see the point in sentiment.
Nor in eating -slows you down.
Your tea consumption has gone exponentially up.
You've bought a pipe -and smoke it regularly.
You steeple your fingers beneath you chin to think.
And hate to think when there is noise around you, even if it's extremely low. Hate to think when there are *people* around you.
Your ringtone is BBC Sherlock theme.
People around you call you freak -even if not to your face.
You stop and stare at people to gather clues about them.
(You can't hold your liquor)
...That's enough to be going on with, don't you think?

When 'Puff The Magic Dragon' suddenly makes you weep... because it makes you think of Sherlock without John
"A dragon lives forever,
But not little girls and boys.
Painted wings and giant rings
Make way for other toys.
One grey night it happened,
Jackie Paper came no more
And Puff that mighty dragon,
He ceased his fearless roar.
His head now bent in sorrow,
Green scales fell like rain,
And Puff no longer went to play
Along that cheery lane.
Without his life-long friend,
He could not be brave,
So Puff that mighty dragon
Sadly slipped into his cave. "

Whenever you prepare a grammar exercise, the sentences all end up having BBC Sherlock characters as subjects. Or describe actions which happened in the series. Or your general appreciation of the writing of the show.

I am doing that a lot at school but my pupils usually don't get it.

Whenever you walk past the big display for the new Penguins (pengwings!) dvd and see the picture of the wolf, you think 'Benedict!' instead of the character's name or just neutrally taking the movie image as a whole. And I hardly ever did that with other voice actor's characters.
