Re: Johnlock Fic Recs *warning - adult content*

Winter's Delights by Kate_Lear http://archiveofourown.org/works/183794

is a lovely Christmas story with Sherlock and John's first time at the Holmes' estate.
Fluffy but not overly sweet, some funny and/or surprising details, a nice read for in between.
I found the storyline not so convincing, but the pros of the fic do make up for that.
And we learn about a large Holmes family and Sherlock's first name

Finished reading it today.
Wow.
That was beautiful.
Wordstrings is a poet.  Her words absolutly sing off the pages.
Sherlock's lists.
John's dreams.
It made me laugh.
It made me ache.
It made me want more.

This fic is certainly a keeper.

IknowIknowIknow, right?! His lists! Yes, this is probably deeply disturbing to say, but I found them so cute, romantic and absolutely LOVELY in every Sherlockian way!

I've read the series twice already, and will probably reread it again shortly. Which fic was your favorite? For me it  was probably "The Death and Ressurectio of the English language". I can't help it, this Sherlock is simply adorable in all his twisted darkness.

Really beautiful series. Dark and crazy and very romantic.

I don't know if I can pick a favorite yet.  Might have to read it a couple more times!

I can tell you though that John interacating with young Sherlock in his dreams had me sobbing.  Especially the last one.

Yes, it was heartbreaking. I was a bit confused that John never talked to Sherlock about it. Perhaps he figured that if Sherlock had deleted it, it was no need for him to relive it.

Yes.  He even said so at one point.  Sherlock had said he didn't know how a scar happened and John replied that it was oik, he knew, so Sherlock didn't have to.

Re: Johnlock Fic Recs *warning - adult content*

Okay, I NEED to read it too.

(I think I read it once, back in the day when I was trying to avoid Johnlock because I only saw the B word thing. So there is the huge need to re-read it, if it's really that fic I remember.)

Has anyone read this?  2 parts so far and they are very long.  Would really like to get an opinion.

Oh, and...porn.Part 1: Sherlock takes on an obvious case (barely a 4) and meets someone who will force him to re-examine what it means to see.

Re: Johnlock Fic Recs *warning - adult content*

State of Flux (24659 words) by Atiki.
Chapters: 4
Rating: Explicit

Wow, this fic. Throughout four fantastic chapters it details the slow build-up between Sherlock and John, from Sherlock's POV. And the author's grasp on these characters, and the way she details Sherlock and his thoughts, is absolutely amazing. I was impressed and toe-curlingly entertained throughout it all.

What I also love about this story is that there is little anger and angst between Sherlock and John. Yes, they both have their own (realistically so) issues, and Sherlock has a bit of his own worries going on. But not anger, not between them. Most Johnlock-fics I've read, no matter how great they are, have so much anger, shouting, fighting and tensity between them that it's fraying on my nerves.

Not this one. It's warm, so gloriously warm and loving, without ever becoming too fluffy or "unicorns dancing on rainbows"-silly. They both are who they are, and Sherlock calls John stupid probably five times in every chapter, but it's still so warm and loving.

Of course, the smut is hot, which has it's own build-up. No rush in this story, just a beautiful, VERY well-written fic for whenever you want to cuddle underneath your blanket and read something that will make your toes curl with warmth, laughter and entertainment.

Three chapters in, tonnaree, and my opinion so far is - superb and masterful. If this author isn't already a pro, she should be. Can't wait to get back to it.

Mine too. I have started the first two chapters. "Slow build" seems to be the correct tab, but I gues I'l give it a go.

Re: Johnlock Fic Recs *warning - adult content*

Right now I'm rereading "To Light Another's Path."  It is a favorite of mine.  I have a big soft spot for Dr. John taking care of Sherlock.

It also has a very good case in it.  I admire people who can write a good case.  I'm not that clever.
