How Sherlock changed the world - National Geographic Channel - UK

I'm watching a documentary on Sherlock, ACD and forensic science. It's very interesting and even has video footage of ACD talking about his creation.

It's really opened my eyes to how ACD pioneered forensic science years before it's time and how it's still used today.

It was so popular that ACD received letters asking for his help on cases. I'm watching a part at the moment where he went to investigate a crime and deduced himself that the person convicted was innocent. He used his public profile to apply pressure on the authorities which resulted in a retrial and the man was found innocent.

This experience made ACD go even further to put right the wrongs of miscarriages of justice and campaigned to set up the first court of appeal.

This is truly amazing stuff to know. It's one thing to read the stories and watch the programmes but this man actually changed crime fighting and the legal process aswell. This is something I would not have known without watching this programme and now I can appreciate ACD even more.

Pretty good.  Makes me proud to be a Holmes fan.  Quite liked the Watson in this too.  He doesn't say much but he is quite nice to look at.

And I said "dangerous" and here you are.

You. It's always you. John Watson, you keep me right.

This was absolutely fascinating! I really enjoyed watching this! I had no idea how much Sherlock affected modern day science. Awesome, thank you for sharing this.

I watched half of it before I had to go to bed. (Program span 9 p.m.-11p.m.) It was super interesting.

Have I gone mad? I'm afraid so. You're entirely bonkers. But I'll tell you a secret.

I HATE it when people tell me that the fate of the universe is in my hands.
I'm told that so often.
