Rosemary and Thyme

Rosemary Boxer and Laura Thyme are two women who share a common interest - horticulture.

Rosemary is educated in plants - in fact, she has a doctorate in plant pathology. Laura is a retired cop with an interest in gardening. (One is educated in a field of interest, the other an ex-authority figure with an interest in the same thing - see a parallel there?)

They do not seek out mysteries, but often find themselves in situations where mysteries present themselves. Being intelligent, abled, and curious, they are driven to investigate and solve the puzzles they encounter.

Sometimes, plants are the reason they are in the situations they find. Other times, the very plants they are working with provide valuable clues to the mysteries. In a few instances, the plants around them actually contain the answers to the riddles they find.

I was introduced to this show a few years ago, and really enjoyed each and every episode. It is based on a creative idea, and the execution is well done. The chemistry between Rosemary and Laura is brilliant. While they face some dark things, the show is surprisingly fun and pleasant.

If you're into British mystery shows and haven't seen this, I would recommend giving it a shot.
