Sherlock Planning John's Bucks Night

If the keyword wedding does actually refer to John's transition to husbandhood, then Sherlock, being his bestfriend would naturally be the best man, & also being both bestfriend and best man, he should have the honour of planning the groom's bucks night. Although it has already been done (Sherlock Holmes: a game of shadows), I'm sure the BBC version would have a very different take on it. I wonder what a bucks/stags night organised by the modern Sherlock would look like (still can't help thinking he would turn it into something case related; but he should at least attempt to get a better venue than the Chinese Circus).

Re: Sherlock Planning John's Bucks Night

Well it would definitely be called a 'stag night' here in the UK. If canon is followed then John will marry whilst Sherlock is 'dead'.

Re: Sherlock Planning John's Bucks Night

I thought Watson married before Sherlock died in the canon and Mary died while Sherlock was dead?

And if Sherlock does turn John's stag party into something case related, maybe all his friends will be there and contribute to the case! Or run screaming in terror. Either way would be fun.

John married after Sherlock died and Mary Morstan/Watson also died during the three years when Holmes was considered to be dead.

Re: Sherlock Planning John's Bucks Night

But if we just pretend - thinking of TBB and Sherlock's idea of a night out it might be something involving dangerous circus acts and nearly getting killed.

Re: Sherlock Planning John's Bucks Night

I would hope Sherlock would have nothing to do with anything as crass as a stag party.

Re: Sherlock Planning John's Bucks Night

Just a crazy little idea of Sherlocks return for all the Johnlockers.

Sherlock wants to surprise John and jumps out of a cake (like a stripper) on his Stag Party...

Re: Sherlock Planning John's Bucks Night

I think John would probably rather plan his own stag than deal with that morass.

I reckon he would. Although Lestrade would probably organise a great stag do.

That actually seems conceivable.

Re: Sherlock Planning John's Bucks Night

First of all: lol! Even just thinking about Sherlock planing a stag night made me laugh and all your opinions even more (especially the cake one XD)
Second: I don't want John to marry... that'd mean he would leave 221b or she would move in there or he wouldn't be around as often or...or...or... But that's not the issue here:
I can imagine Sherlock doing research on the internet what people do on stag nights and repelled (if you noticed: I'm using Sherlock-vocab ;) ) by all the gross stuff he would organize one of the less disgusting options: going to a casino.
They're there and the whole concept of casino and the games payed in there is new to him, because what use would that kind of knowledge be in solving cases. He would learn the games (they would make him do it) and he starts playing blackjack. Of course he'll beat all others because he is so high functioning. The security would be suspicious and they all end up being arrested, like the end of every good stag night ;P
Or, and I'd love to see how it's like and what he's going to do; they get Sherlock drunk :D

Re: Sherlock Planning John's Bucks Night

I think they will go to Jim's home town Dublin, which is very popular for Stag Weekends. They will all drink too much Guiness, Caffreys and whiskey. John will end up clingfilmed  to a lamp post. Sherlock will be found hunting for leprechauns, in an effort to prove they do not exist. Lestrade will spend the night chatting up a barmaid with little, if any, success and Mycroft will end driving a gypsy caravan with horses down a country lane.

Really? Not even after too much to drink. I have the image of him in my head wearing one of his gorgeous suits but sitting there, reins in hand driving the caravan! Lol!

Re: Sherlock Planning John's Bucks Night

I really don't want to see that. I witnessed a stag night (for a girl - what is it called then?) in Ireland this summer and found it horrible.
But your ideas are great. One of you should write a story about it.

If it is for a girl it is called a 'hen night'.
